£1 only!

£1 only!

I’ve become a big fan of pound stores over the last year or so.  If I’m honest it’s so when my friends discuss Lidl, TK Maxx and uswitch.com over the dinner table, I don’t feel left out of the stories of amazing bargains and day-to-day savings.

And pound stores have hit the headlines again at telegraph.co.uk today as the council in Lymington, Hampshire asks the 99p Store to change its ‘gaudy’ logo to something more in keeping with their Georgian High Street.  Actually if you read on, most of the community are welcoming them.

All of the pound stores (Poundland, Poundstretcher and 99p Stores) are using the recession to expand aggressively.  Not only changing the face of our High Streets but also acting reminder that this downturn will leave some lasting changes to the way middle class consumers think and act.
